With today’s increasing use of devices ranging from security cameras to access control to WAPs, there is an ever-increasing demand to supply these devices for power and data. The use of ethernet cables like Category 6 and 6A and Power over Ethernet (PoE) has long been a preferred method of supporting these applications, however historically the use of these cables has been limited to 90M Permanent Link and 100M Channel lengths. In recent years, specialized extended distance ethernet cables have become available, allowing for increased distance to support some of these applications.
During this one-hour session, Prysmian will touch on the different challenges facing extended distance ethernet applications and possible solutions to some of these challenges.
David Fausz has worked in the wire and cable industry since 2008, starting with General Cable and then Prysmian. David has worked exclusively with the development of Category Cable products and extensively with customers in the field.
