Data speed and bandwidth need continue to grow. New technology continually evolves to meet the needs of new applications and growing densities. TIA standards provide guidelines for structured cabling design, testing and installation to ensure the structured cabling will support the intended applications. However, structured cabling standards have been around for quite a while and as such, they sometimes become an after thought as shortcuts are taken to meet tighter schedules and other demands.
Attendees will review the basic installation principles that have been used over the years and reflect how new technologies and requirements, common shortcuts, and failure to follow the standards can impact the ability of cabling to deliver the performance required by modern networks and the advanced speeds required today.
